THE KINGDOM OF GOD COMES TO EARTH
The Kingdom of God is coming down from God out of heaven to the earth, and the world is writhing and convulsing at the power and magnitude of our Father’s almighty, sovereign reign. Things in this old world will never be the same again, for God is replacing the old order with the new and greater order of His Kingdom reign over all. One of the most significant works of our Father at this time is to deliver His people from the bondage of old Adam and “his” worldly systems, and set us free from it all. Father’s elect of this hour, who are all maturing sons of God appointed of Him to sonship fulfilled, must be totally free of the bondages of the Adamic nature and mind. We are the Lord’s firstfruits. As such we must be totally free before we may set others free and bring deliverance to many more. And the cry of the Spirit now is:
“Let My People Go!”
To begin His sovereign plan to deliver His people out from the bondage of Egypt, the Lord called Moses to come up to the top of Mt. Sinai to meet with the Lord on that mountain. Through the wonderful yet strange spiritual experiences he encountered at the top of Mt. Sinai, Moses was empowered of the Lord to bring deliverance to God’s people, Israel. The Lord had heard the cries of His people and determined to do something about it. Through a series of miracles, signs and wonders, the Lord would bring Pharaoh to the realization that he had better let Israel go free. Although Pharaoh stubbornly clung to his willful ways, resisting the plan and purpose of God for His people, the Lord prevailed in power and glory and delivered His people from the bondage of Egypt.
Were it not for Pharaoh’s resistance to the will of God, which was also a part of Father’s plan, that event would scarcely be known by the multitudes of this world. But, as it is, many people in the world today have heard the story of God’s victory over Pharaoh and his Egyptian hordes. And all who know the story and believe the miracles involved will also know something of the miracle working power of the Lord our God to deliver His people today. He is the same today as He was then; He will deliver His people today from the present bondages with as much or greater power and glory than He displayed to the Egyptians of old. And present world conditions show us that God is again on the move to deliver His people. This time He will deliver us from the bondages of the Adamic nature and mind, and from the world (typified in Egypt) and its corrupt systems created by that old, carnal man of the flesh.
There are many parallels to be seen between present world conditions
prevailing conditions when Israel was in bondage in Egypt. For example, as the Lord raised up Pharaoh to resist the will, purpose and plan of God, so also has He raised up another “Pharaoh” in this day who is also resisting the plan and purpose of the Lord for today, and that “Pharaoh” is our president, George W. Bush. The Lord gave the same anointed word for him as He did for Pharaoh of old (see Romans 9:17-24). Multitudes of Christians voted for this president, and in doing so they participated in a worldwide conspiracy; it was truly a great deception. In fact, there seems to be great deception everywhere during this night, especially among Christians and also among those who were once among the elect of the Lord. But Jesus warned us this would take place, when He said many would come in His name, claiming to be Christ or like Christ, professing to be Christians (Lu. 21:8). Some, who were once among the elect, are now turning to Eastern Religions and other gross deceptions, probably because they got tired of waiting for the promises of God to be fulfilled. But Jesus indicated that it is not possible to “deceive the very elect” (see Mt. 24:22-24)! May the Lord, Who loves us with an everlasting Love, keep us all as only He can!
Furthermore, as the Lord raised up Moses and endued him with power from on high to deliver His people, so also has the Lord raised up an anointed “Moses company” in the earth today. They will bring deliverance to the masses of this world who are in bondage to the world and its corrupt, man-made systems. And as the Lord called Moses to ascend Mt. Sinai and meet with Him there, so also has the Lord called His elect up to Mt. Zion, that we might meet with Him there and be empowered to bring deliverance to the multitudes of this world. Those multitudes are in bondage to the systems of this world and do not know it! The world’s perverted systems, called Babylon (Rev. 18), were created by the old man, Adam, who is the man of sin within all mankind (see 2 Thess. 2:3-4 & Is. 14:12-17). The Lord is on the move again, as He was in Israel’s history, and may we be prepared to move with Him!
The first time the phrase, “Let my people go,” was used is in Exodus, chapter five and verse one. “Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.” Why did God want His people, Israel, to be free at that time? So they could celebrate a feast or a sacred festival unto the Lord in the wilderness! It was better for the nation to celebrate a feast in the wilderness than it was for them to celebrate it while in Egyptian bondage! Although they were to celebrate a feast unto the Lord in the wilderness, we are seen coming out of the wilderness of this world, to celebrate a greater Feast unto the Lord. We cannot be in bondage to the elements of this world while we celebrate this feast, but must know the blessed freedom and victory of the Kingdom of God on earth. And our celebration of a feast unto the Lord will be the grandest of them all; it will be the last and best feast, the Feast of Tabernacles.
What is the Feast of Tabernacles for us Today?
There seems to be much confusion now as to what the feast of Tabernacles really is. But as we look to the Lord and His word, we should be able to determine just what this feast is and how it is fulfilled in our lives during this new Day. Be assured that no one has yet experienced the glories of Tabernacles, for that realm represents the fullness of God. It is a realm in God to which no one now living has yet attained, in spite of the many claims of the carnal-minded! But when we leave the realm of Pentecost, and the old church order that belongs to that dead realm of the past, we will then be on our way to the blessed and glorious realm of Tabernacles. As we grow spiritually toward Tabernacles and all it holds for us, we must first experience trumpets and the day of atonement (Lev. 23:24-32). And since no one living has yet experienced Tabernacles, we do not know much about it at this time.
From a study of the scriptures, it becomes clear that the feast of Tabernacles has something to do with the true Tabernacle of God. The word translated “tabernacle,” means a tent, a home, or a dwelling place. It is God’s dwelling place in the Spirit; it is His home! The first truth we discover about the tabernacle of God is that there is such a realm in God. But it is now to be seen only in the heavenly, spiritual realms with the Lord. And it is that heavenly tabernacle or temple where we must regularly worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth (see Jo. 4:23-24 & Heb. 10:25). The Psalmist said of that heavenly tabernacle, “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD” (Ps. 27:5-6). Where is the secret place of His tabernacle? And where is His tabernacle? It is in the high and holy, heavenly realm of Spirit!
The Psalmist also said, “I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah” (Ps. 61:4). There is only one tabernacle where we may abide forever in true peace and rest; it is the Lord’s Tabernacle, which is in the Spirit! A brother from Canada wrote to us giving this understanding of the word “brooding,” which is what the Lord does when He covers us “in the covert” of His wings. He wrote: “While ponderingthese things tonight, the holy Spirit used the word `brooding.’ I thought I knew what the word meant and wondered if the holy Spirit would brood. When looking in a couple of dictionaries, I feel that maybe the word describes our present state well. The World Book dictionary states: `brooding, hovering closely around as a bird over her brood; to cover or protect with the wings; to protect and cherish as a bird her young.’ The World Book states: `a brood - the young birds hatched at one time in the nest or cared for together.’
“How wonderful that as we are in our booths preparing for `Tabernacles’ that we are being `brooded ones’ and can also `brood’ in the Spirit! I also was reminded of when I was a boy, in Spring my mom would say that `such and such a hen is getting broody. I had better get some eggs under her.’ What a lot of clucking and talking to those eggs as mom placed those eggs under her warm feathers. The longer she sat on them she got very protective and downright ugly if anything or anyone got too close to her. When at last the eggs hatched she would guard them with her life and gather them under her wings at the first sign of danger. How many times has the holy Spirit brooded over His creation? How wonderful to realize that because He is `brooding’ that a new `brood’ is about to come forth!” (End of quotation.)
We are in the Tabernacle of the Lord, where the Lord Himself is “brooding” over us to bring us to birth in His Kingdom. There is no other tabernacle that is like the true Tabernacle of the Lord! The writer to the Hebrews, when describing the ministry of Christ as High Priest, said He was “A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man” (Heb. 8:2). The true tabernacle of the Lord is the handiwork of God; it has nothing to do with the so-called churches, fellowships or denominations established by man! It is that heavenly, spiritual tabernacle, “the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man,” where He is brooding over us and where we may find rest, comfort and refuge from the deceptive and contrary spirits, as well as the chaos, confusion and struggles of this world.
There is another “tabernacle” in the heavenlies, and that “tabernacle” is reserved for us there in the realm of the Spirit. It is the “tabernacle” of our bodies! Paul wrote of that “tabernacle,” when he declared, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle (or this body) were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle (or this body) do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed (or without a body), but clothed upon (with our new body), that (this) mortality might be swallowed up of life” (2 Cor. 5:1-4). What a glorious new tabernacle or spiritual body we shall have!
That new “tabernacle,” or our new spiritual body, corresponds to the spiritual tabernacle of the Lord, which is in the heavenlies. Just as the Lord has a tabernacle in the Spirit, which is His dwelling place, or His home, so also does He have a heavenly, spiritual abode or tabernacle prepared for us as individuals. Each one of us has a new, heavenly, spiritual body or tabernacle to replace our present earthly body. It is our new spiritual body like unto His, which is reserved for us in Heaven. We must put on that new, heavenly, spiritual body before we may become a part of the greater Tabernacle of God, which is in the realm of Spirit. God must make His home within us in fullness before the wonderful Feast of Tabernacles, and all it provides, shall be fulfilled in our lives!
Our spirit, which we really are, is clothed upon with these fleshly, earthly bodies for now. These present bodies are the “clothing” with which our spirits are now clothed. But they are only temporary tents or tabernacles for our spirits. In due time, our spirits, or the spirit that we really are, will be clothed upon with those new, heavenly bodies or our new spiritual tabernacles, which are reserved for us in the heavenly realm of Spirit. And it is our conviction that we must have on that new, spiritual body in order to truly celebrate that grand feast in the Spirit, which is the glorious Feast of Tabernacles! Our present body, or our earthly “tabernacle” of this life, must be changed to become identical to the heavenly, spiritual Tabernacle of God. Then we will become a part of that greater Tabernacle of God and will be joined to Christ in a holy union, to become a vital, living part of Him!
The feast of Passover was the first of the major feasts in Israel’s worship! That first feast, when observed in the Spirit as the Lord intends them to be, provided us with the basic redemption, or with our initial salvation. So also does each of Israel’s feasts contribute something to our full salvation, by the Spirit! Therefore, the last feast, the Feast of Tabernacles, must conclude with redemption fulfilled in our lives. And when we properly and spiritually worship the Lord at Tabernacles, we will come forth with a new body; we will not need to tell others that we are at Tabernacles, for the evidence of our new spiritual body will be seen by all the wise and discerning! Then, having been fully saved in our triune being, we shall celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with our new bodies in the Glory and Life of the Lord God omnipotent Who reigns!
The prophet Amos prophesied the word of the Lord when he predicted
the restoration of the true tabernacle of the Lord. “In that day will
I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches
thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of
old.” Then the word of the Lord tells why the “tabernacle of David”
is to be built: “That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all
the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this”
(Amos 9:11-12). It is by “building again the tabernacle of David”
that the heathen shall come into the Kingdom of God! Then James, speaking to
the assembled saints in Jerusalem, repeated the same prophecy. He said, “Simeon
hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them
a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is
written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David,
which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set
it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles,
upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Known
unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:14-18).
In order to properly interpret prophecy, there are some fundamental principles to consider. For example, when the word speaks of “the tabernacle of David,” the Spirit is referring to the tabernacle of Christ, for David, the Lord’s chosen King of Israel, is a type of Christ. Also, when the prophetic word speaks of Jerusalem, it is not referring to that old city in the Middle East, which is a constant hotbed of war and trouble, and a religious center of Christ-rejecters and of Babylonish confusion and turmoil. But whenever the prophetic Word speaks of Jerusalem, we believe the Lord is referring to the “new Jerusalem which is above,” to the heavenly, spiritual city of God, which is in the heavenly realm of the presence and Spirit of the Lord.
Therefore, “the tabernacle of David,” is the true House or Temple of the Lord. It is the House, Tabernacle or Temple the Lord said He would make for David. David expressed his desire to build a house for the Lord, but his request was denied. So the Lord promised to build a house for David (see 2 Sam. 7:1-11). For that reason, the true House or Tabernacle of the Lord is also called, “the tabernacle of David.” The Lord has been building that House or Tabernacle during the previous age of the church, by gathering out of the nations a people for Himself. His tabernacle is not made with literal bricks or stones, but with the spirits of His elect who are “lively stones” in His spiritual House (1 Pe. 2:5). And those “lively stones” are the sons of God of this hour; they are the elect and chosen ones whom God has chosen to be members of His House or His Tabernacle.
The House or Tabernacle of the Lord now is in the realm of the Spirit; it is a part of that heavenly realm in God that is seen coming down from God out of heaven to the earth. Each one of us has become a vital, living part of the true Tabernacle of the Lord, which is also called “the tabernacle of David!” And the reason the Lord built and restored this “Tabernacle of David” is“that the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.” The Lord’s Tabernacle, including all His heavenly sons, must come down from God out of Heaven to the earth. And when IT/HE DOES, all the rest of the masses of mankind, besides the holy remnant of the Lord, will then run into His Temple, where they shall find full salvation, along with His peace and rest!
Let there be no doubt in our minds! God knows what He is doing, not only in all the earth, but throughout the universe as well! He is doing His will in all the earth with determination and the zeal of the Lord of hosts! He has known all His works from the beginning of the world, before ever there was a person on this earth! The Lord our God, Whom we lovingly serve and worship, has known all His works since the beginning of the ages of this world. And He is fulfilling all those preordained, predestined and sovereign plans and purposes by the Word of His power. The true House of the Lord, or the “tabernacle of David,” is being built and has been in the process of being restored throughout the church age. It is being built and restored, in the Spirit and by the Spirit, according to the heavenly pattern, which was first revealed to Moses on the mount of the Lord (Heb. 8:5). That true Tabernacle of the Lord may soon be ready to descend to this earth in great power and glory, and it will do so at the appointed time! And when His Tabernacle does come down to the earth, the glorious Feast of Tabernacles will then be gloriously and completely fulfilled!
Thus the prophet declared, “Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. And David (Christ) my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David (Christ) shall be their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set MY SANCTUARY IN THE MIDST OF THEM FOR EVERMORE. MY TABERNACLE also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore” (Eze. 37:23-28). This prophecy is referring to us, the elect of the Lord, who also are the remnant of Israel! When the feast of Tabernacles is fulfilled in our lives and His Tabernacle has come to earth in fullness, then the rest of mankind will join themselves to His Tabernacle, to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and enjoy the abundant benefits of the Kingdom of God.
While in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, which represents this new Day, John saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. There was no longer any sea, which may mean that the “wicked” nature of old Adam (as in Is. 57:20) is removed from us all. John also saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Then he heard a great voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful” (see Rev. 21:1-5).
This is a description of the NEW EARTH as it will be when the feast of Tabernacles is fulfilled in our lives for the benefit of all mankind, and the “new Jerusalem” realm of the Kingdom of God has fully come to earth. Then there will be no more tears or death, neither sorrow, crying, or pain, for Christ and His sons will be reigning in fullness, and the old worldly order of man’s unjust misrule will have passed away and God will have made all things new! It may appear that we have a long way to go to see the feast of Tabernacles fulfilled in our lives. But our Father specializes in growing His sons to full maturity in a short time. Indeed, the Lord will do a short, quick work upon the earth in this new Day (Ro. 9:28)! The earth shall be made to bring forth in one day and a nation shall be born at once, for as soon as Zion travailed she brought forth her children (Is. 66:8). The day of atonement, which is where we should be now, is a “day” when all the sons of God will experience the birth-pains of Zion’s pregnancy. It is that designated period when all the sons of God are travailing to be born of the Spirit, that they might become spirit in all three areas of their beings (Jo. 3:5-6)!
I rejoice to know that I am a part of that holy, heavenly Tabernacle and I am glad to know that you are there also! The Kingdom of God on earth demands that a people come forth who are maturing in the Spirit and who are not like little babes, finding it difficult to grow up and quit playing the old religious games of their infancy! The Kingdom of God must have mature saints who are growing up into Christ, the Head. And, knowing that we are chosen of our Father for this high and holy calling, we will grow spiritually to become manifest sons of God! By our spiritual growth in Christ, we will break the curse that has reigned throughout the six days of man’s misrule, and will release the creation from its long and painful bondage to sin and death.
Look to Israel’s Bondage in Egypt to see Where we are
We can see that the Holy Spirit is making a very definite connection between events of today and those in Israel’s history. God is meticulously, deliberately and with sovereign purpose, setting the stage of the world today for the grand and glorious deliverance of His people out of the bondages of this world and its corrupt systems. As we have already shown, this present hour corresponds to Israel’s deliverance out of Egypt! God has His “pharaoh” in place at this time! He was created by God as a vessel of dishonor and a vessel of wrath, and prepared by God to resist His will, which is to bring His people out of bondage. All that is taking place in the world today is a part of Father’s sovereign plan and purpose, and none of it is happening merely by accident! God is in control now more than ever, for “He worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” (Eph. 1:11), and as it pleases Him.
Our Father has the entire negative realm set up and established the way He wants it all to be in this world, so that His sovereign purpose in redemption may be gloriously and victoriously fulfilled in all the earth. So also has the Lord set up the positive realm, which is the realm of His Kingdom and His Spirit, to show forth His glory. Then His Kingdom power shall shine forth with the glory of the Lord, through the vessels of mercy, which God has also created for this particular time and according to His sovereign purpose for this new Day. Then Paul asks the question: “What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory” (Ro. 9:22-23). Let us meditate deeply on the truth of this passage!
This is more than a simple question; it is a questioning statement showing the extent to which the Lord our God will go to manifest His glory to all. God is willing to show His wrath through a chosen vessel of dishonor and wrath. He will also endure, with much longsuffering, those vessels of wrath who are fitted, or prepared and completed, only for destruction in the world today. Vessels of wrath can only destroy! They can do nothing good or positive! All their works and efforts will only destroy! They can only destroy all the things in this world that they touch! But God is willing to endure “with much longsuffering,” this present destruction, through His created vessels of wrath, that He might make known HIS GREATER GLORY on the vessels of mercy, which He has before prepared unto glory! We had no choice in the matter; we are the chosen and the elect of our Father. He sovereignly created us to be what we are, and has chosen us as His own sons. And now we are also blessed to know that we are His vessels of mercy, prepared of our Father to show forth His great glory and His holy and awesome power and honor as the great King and Lord of all!
May God help us see the extent to which our Father will go to let us know that He is moving in the earth at this time to deliver His people out of the world and its man-oriented systems. With deliberate purpose and sovereign authority the Lord has patiently, precisely and very definitely set up the world and its systems in preparation for the deliverance of His people and the manifestation of the sons of God. He has brought forth another “pharaoh” for this day who is a vessel of dishonor and a vessel of wrath. Our Father has also brought forth a company of sons, who are prepared of Him to show forth the grace, the glory and the mercy of the Lord, and set the creation free of the curse and its many bondages.
When the Lord does something like He is doing in the earth now, He does not overlook or ignore one area where His power, His authority, and especially His grace may be displayed for all the world to see. He has all the vessels of wrath, along with the negative realms and the powers of darkness, each in their assigned places, ready to resist the will and the purpose of God, so that His prepared vessels of honor and mercy may be gloriously displayed to overwhelm all that is of the negative realm. And He has done all this in the world at this time to display His glory, along with His abundant mercy and His super-abounding grace! Truly, the Kingdom of God is coming to the earth! And what can we say to all of this but “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
Why did the Lord go to such lengths to raise up a vessel of dishonor and wrath, as He did with Pharaoh of old and as He has done today? That He might show forth His glory and power in a greater way! Had Pharaoh not resisted the plan of God to deliver His people out of Egypt in the beginning, there never would have been the plagues of Egypt. Moses and Aaron would not have known the power of God, which turned Aaron’s rod into a serpent and swallowed up all the other serpents that came forth when the rods of Pharaoh’s magicians also became serpents. Egypt’s rivers would not have been turned to blood, had Pharaoh not continued to resist the will, the purpose and the plan of the Lord.
And had Pharaoh not continued to resist the will of God, the rivers would not have been smitten of God and made to bring forth frogs upon the entire land of Egypt. Nor would the dust of the earth in Egypt been turned into lice; the swarms of flies would not have come upon the people and entered into their homes; neither would all the cattle of the Egyptians been smitten; nor would boils have come upon the Egyptians; nor would the plague of pestilence have come upon the people of Egypt; nor would the hail, and fire mingled with the hail, have come down upon Egypt, killing both man and beast. Then there also were the plagues of locusts, and of darkness, and of the death of all the firstborn of Egypt. Each time, the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart causing him to continue to resist the will, the plan, and the purpose of God for His people. Moses told Pharaoh the reason the plagues came upon him was “that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the Lord our God” (Ex. 8:10). And the Lord gave His reason, when He said,“that thou mayest know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth” (Ex. 8:22).
The Lord Jehovah so thoroughly and so completely hardened Pharaoh’s heart that the king very aggressively resisted the will and the purpose of God, even to the bitter end. Pharaoh would not give in to the will of God through at least ten plagues of the Lord upon Egypt, so he and his vast army were destroyed in the Red Sea. Had not Pharaoh resisted the will of God to the very end we would never have heard of the Lord’s triumph over Pharaoh at the Red Sea. But as it is, Pharaoh resisted the will of God to the end. The Lord parted the waters of the Red Sea, allowing all Israel to cross over on dry ground. But when pharaoh and his army followed the Israelites, they perished when the Lord closed the waters of the Red Sea upon them. Today, the Lord Jehovah has raised up another pharaoh who is resisting the will and the purpose of God. And, as with the first pharaoh, our present pharaoh and his wicked hosts shall also be conquered and cast into the “sea” (in prophetic type) where dwells Leviathan, the crooked sea-serpent (Is. 27:1). All who dwell there in the great sea of the Adam-man shall be judged and corrected of the Lord. Then that “sea” shall give up its dead and they shall be judged of the Lord and restored (see Rev. 20:13), so that no one who has ever dwelt there shall be lost! What a victory that shall be for the Kingdom of God!
The Lord’s victory over Pharaoh and his Egyptian hordes is described this way in the word of the Lord: “Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble” (Ex. 15:1-7).
God’s dispute with Pharaoh of old has taught the world how mighty and powerful He is! So also will the world of today know that there is none like the Lord in the midst of the earth, Who alone is able to defeat every enemy and put them all under His feet, when the Lord has conquered the present powers of evil! The one major truth we need to know now is that the Lord is a Man of war; the Lord is His Name! He is well able to take care of the enemies of the Lord, no matter in what country of this world they may dwell. Our present pharaoh is a warmonger and is becoming an out-of-control dictator. He would like to go to war against the nations of this world that he thinks are our enemies. But I declare to you, on the authority of God’s Word, that the Lord alone is well able to defeat any and all of our enemies! And it is a violation of the principles of the Kingdom of God for any man, especially those who claim to be “Christian,” to go to war in this world! I trust the Lord to bring peace to this world when every man has failed! And my trust and faith in God, as well as yours, is not a mistake, nor is that trust given in error. The Lord is faithful and He alone will bring peace to this troubled world!
When I told a certain “Christian” that I believed God, and that He would deliver us from any enemy, he then said to me, “So you think we should do nothing?” I got the distinct impression from him that trusting the Lord is “doing nothing!” But such is the sad, unbelieving state of the so-called “Christians” of today. They are totally back-slidden, away from God, and lacking in the faith of the Son of God. Were it not for the holy remnant of the Lord, who believe God and His holy, anointed Word, and who trust Him in and for all things, this world might have been destroyed, as it was in Noah’s day. But God gave His word of promise to Noah, saying He would never again destroy the earth and the people in it, as He did at that time (Gen. 8:21). And now, He has called forth His holy remnant! They are His and are fully committed to doing only and always His perfect will in all the earth! They trust Him in all things and live their lives accordingly. They are His sheep! They hear His Voice and His Voice alone, and they obey His every Word!
At the beginning of Pharaoh’s resistance to the will of God and before the plagues began, the Lord said to Moses, “Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers” (Ex. 6:1-4). The Lord revealed Himself to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as El Shaddai, or as God Almighty, but by His Name, Jehovah, was He not yet known to them. But when God moved to deliver Israel out of Egyptian bondage, He established a new order with a new set of principles, including His new Name, by which He was to be known in Israel from then on. To deliver His people, the Lord revealed Himself anew! So also is He doing in this new and greater Kingdom Day!
The Name Jehovah, according to Strong’s Concordance, means the self-existent or eternal God. It is first found in Gen. 2:4, as “the Lord God” who “made the earth and the heavens,.” and is used in connection with Jehovah Elohim, signifying He that always was, that always is, and that ever is to come. It is given in Rev. 1:4, as Him which is (the Ever-existing One), and which was (expressing continuance in the past), and which is to come (the coming One, He Who is ever to come). “It is a combination in marvelous perfection of the three periods of existence in one word - the future, the present, and the past.” (From The Sacred Name Bible.)
How we need to know our Father as Jehovah Elohim, as the One
Who existed in the past, Who exists now in the present, and Who also exists
in the future. He it is Who is “the high and lofty One that inhabiteth
eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also
that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Is. 57:15). He is the eternal
God (Deut. 33:27), Who will make of us, who were once forsaken and hated so
that no man went through us, “an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations”
Who controls all evil and all good? Who formed the light and created the darkness? Who makes peace and creates evil? Who causes the heavens to drop down and the skies to pour forth righteousness? Who broods over us and girds us, surrounding us with His Love, even when we did not know Him? HE IS THE LORD! He is specifically Jehovah Elohim, the mighty Lord of all Who inhabits eternity, the One Who IS, Who WAS, and Who IS TO COME! Blessed be His great Name forever! And He would say to us and to all the world, “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else” (Is. 45:5-6).
He Who is, Who was, and Who IS TO COME, shall soon appear! Keep watching and waiting for Him, saints of God, for He shall soon appear in the great power and glory of the Kingdom of God! And to show His mighty power and glory, which is to be marvelously displayed when He comes, Father is setting up vessels of wrath and making them very strong and powerful; He is also imparting greater power and glory to His vessels of mercy, which He has before appointed to this honor as kings and priests of God! The coming spiritual battle will be an intense one, but through it all, God will bring forth His people out of the bondages of this world and its corrupt systems of man. Amen and Amen! Get ready saints of God, our Lord and Father of all is on the move! And when He moves, He waits for no one!
How do we prepare to meet the Lord and see Him when He appears? Not by the works of the flesh but by clinging to the Lord, believing Him for all things, and trusting that He will do all that He has declared He will do for the people of this world. Moses is a perfect example of our present need. You may remember that when Moses approached Pharaoh and asked him to let Israel go free, Pharaoh only increased Israel’s bondage by requiring that they add straw to the bricks they made. The straw would not be provided for them, but they had to harvest the straw and bring it to the brick-makers to add to the bricks. And they had to make the same amount of bricks as before. It was indeed a severe bondage! When he heard this, Moses became discouraged, just as we all do at such times. Then Moses said to the Lord,“O Lord, why have you dealt evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people, neither have you delivered your people at all” (Ex. 5:22-23, Amplified). Does this sound like something we might say? The Lord knew we would have such thoughts as these; He knew before we were ever born that Moses and his tests and trials would help us in this present hour. Because the Lord knew we needed such examples, He inspired Paul to write this pure Word of the Lord: “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world (or age) are come” (1 Cor. 10:11). Father knows our weaknesses and has made provision for every one of our needs!
Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God (Elohim) to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you” (Ex. 7:1-4, NIV). What a wonderful Word Moses received from the Lord! The Lord made him to be as God to Pharaoh! And He is doing the same with us! Gone are the days of the in part ministry! Gone is the old order of doing things in the Church! And gone also are the gifts and ministries of the past! God is doing a new thing in the earth! He is making us to be like God to the nations!
God is the God of increase (Is. 9:7)! Therefore, all the Lord is doing now to show forth His power, glory and authority is much greater than all He did in the past. All that He did in the past will pale in comparison with what He is doing today! But first His elect of this hour must be firmly disciplined of their Father to hear His Voice and His Word and then obey Him without compromise. The Lord said to Moses, “You are to say everything I command you.” So is He also speaking the same to us! And what the Lord will do with us and for us, to make us what He wants us to be, will be much greater than all that He did with Moses. It is now our responsibility, as it was with Moses, to say everything He commands us to say, and to declare His will and His purpose to all who will hear.
This is a Night to be Observed by Israel Throughout their Generations
It is a wonderful truth to know that our Father not only has a purpose for doing what He does in the earth, but He also has a time when that purpose is to be fulfilled. I am sure we all know that the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt BY NIGHT. It was a night of deliverance and victory for the nation; it was a night which they were told to observe throughout their future generations. When I realized that God has set the stage of this world for the deliverance of His people, as He has done now, and that this is also A NIGHT TO BE REMEMBERED, my spirit rejoiced within me! God is moving to deliver His people out of bondage today, just as He did when He delivered Israel out of Egyptian bondage. This also may very well be the NIGHT of our deliverance!
The Lord delivered Israel out of Egypt by night, and He also
brought them out after being in Egypt for exactly 430 years! Notice the precise
wording of scripture: “ Now the length of time the Israelite people lived
in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the
LORD's divisions left Egypt. Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring
them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor
the LORD for the generations to come” (Ex. 12:40-42, NIV) The Lord our
God is never late! He may be a little early, for
He “will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth” (Ro. 9:28). Our Father’s timing is always accurate, good and perfect; He will never be late!
After Israel had been in Egypt for 430 years, to the exact day, the whole nation left Egypt. Let us now know, with full assurance, that the Lord will fulfill all his will and His word in precise detail and will do so in the fullness of time, as He did with Israel of old. Our Father has a record of faithfulness to do His will at the precise time when that will is to be fulfilled. He also has a solid record of loving concern for the people whom He has chosen to be His elect. When the Lord has determined to deliver His people today, He will be on time. On the last day of Israel’s bondage in Egypt, during that very night, we read, “the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt.” The King James has it as, “It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt.” The phrase, “to be much observed” means to guard, protect, and attend to. It pictures the Lord keeping vigil during that night as He led them out of Egypt. The Lord guarded the nation of Israel as He prepared to lead them out of Egyptian bondage. He not only guarded them, He also protected them and attended to all their needs, keeping vigil over them, while He led them out of that bondage. The word “vigil” refers to a period of staying awake during a time usually spent asleep. Its origin is from the Latin word for “awake.” A “vigil” is also that time of night when someone keeps watch over others or prays for them. That word, “vigil,” truly describes what our Lord is doing for us during this night of nights! Our Lord is keeping “vigil” over us; He is watching over us and interceding for us during this night, as He prepares to lead us out of the bondage of this world and its corrupt systems.
The Lord kept “vigil” all through that night until the morning watch, when He troubled the Egyptians. Then God Himself removed the chariot wheels of the Egyptians, making it difficult for them to pursue Israel through the Red Sea. When they saw that God had removed their chariot wheels, the Egyptians ceased following Israel and began to flee from them. They realized that God was fighting for Israel against the them, so they fled from the Israelites. But God caused the waters of the sea to return upon the Egyptians and on their chariots and horsemen, “and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea” (Ex. 14:24-28).
To show that God has a future, prophetic purpose for Israel’s deliverance out of Egyptian bondage, the Lord made it a memorial to be observed by future generations of Israelites, particularly the remnant of Israel, which we are! Thus, it is written, “on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come.” We are that future generation of Israelites for whom all Israel was to keep vigil and honor the Lord throughout her history. It is for us that God is now moving in the earth to bring deliverance, making it possible for others also to be delivered from the bondages of this world and its corrupt systems of man. This is that “night” of remembrance, which past generations were to observe and honor; it is the joyous night of deliverance for us, the holy remnant of the Lord, who also are the remnant of Israel. And just as morning follows night in the natural, so also shall the blessed Kingdom morning follow this night of nights, bringing the benefits and blessings of the Kingdom of God to all!
