THESE ARE THEY ...
“These are they...” who are enduring the tests and trials of this life that they might inherit the Kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. The principles or beatitudes of the Kingdom of God are being imparted to them, by the operation of the holy Spirit within them. The Beatitudes that Jesus set forth in His sermon on the mount have been called “the Articles of Confederation of the Kingdom of God!” They are the principles by which we shall live, and move, and have our being in the Kingdom of God. They are also the principles that our Father is planting and establishing within us, by the work of His Spirit. The word “beatitude” means to be blessed. And when the Lord blesses us, we have received His supreme blessedness and happiness! The beatitudes of Jesus are His Kingdom blessings given to His disciples; they are more properly, the BE-atitudes of the Kingdom. They are the attitudes and principles of the Kingdom of God on earth, which are being made a part of us to complete the perfect Man that we are BECOMING!
We call them, BE-atitudes, for they represent what we must BE, not merely what we should think about or talk about. But we cannot BE something that we have not yet become! God must make us what He wants us to BE! We cannot make ourselves to BE that which the Lord desires, nor should we fall into the error of putting on a false front by attempting to imitate, in and by the flesh, what we think our Father wants us to be! God is creating us into His own image and likeness, and He is beginning that work within us! When our Father is finished with us, our external being will manifest and show forth that which is within us! That will be the manifestation of the sons of God!
“And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt. 5:1-3). That Jesus did only and always the will of His Father is clearly seen in this scripture. Jesus really saw the multitudes, but He did not bow to their wishes! The multitudes followed Him, not because they wanted to be a part of His Kingdom, or because of the miracles He did. Jesus said, “Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled” (Jo. 6:26). No doubt those multitudes were hungry and needed to be entertained, as most people do, so they followed Jesus. But Jesus was not called to do what the multitudes wanted Him to do, no matter what their reasons or intentions were; He was called to do the will of His Father! If Jesus had done the will of the people, His Father’s will would have been compromised. So it is with us today! Follow the people today, including me, and you will all fall into the ditch of the despair and the corruption of man’s ways. Walk with the Lord in perfect harmony with His revealed will, as I try to do, and you will walk the path of the fullness of the Life of Christ! Jesus always did His Father’s will! So He left the multitudes at the bottom of the mountain and took His few disciples up the mountain, where He taught them the spiritual principles and the BE-atitudes of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The words, “and seeing the multitudes,” have special significance for us and add much to the truth of this story. Jesus really SAW the multitudes! He saw them as men, women and children who were in desperate need! They may have needed food, clothing or shelter in this life, but Jesus saw beyond their immediate, physical, earthly needs. He saw them as a world of humanity in need of deliverance! He saw them as a great host of people who would one day sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven! He saw those multitudes as a people who would eventually find their way into the greater glories of His Kingdom, to receive all His benefits and blessings!
Jesus saw those multitudes in great need of all the provisions, blessings and promises of the Kingdom of His Father, and He determined to do something about it! Perhaps Jesus also knew, as the Son of God, that the life He lived in this world would establish a way or a path for those multitudes to follow, enabling them to enter into the Kingdom of God and receive its many blessings and benefits. When Jesus saw those multitudes we know His Father saw them also, for Jesus was always doing His Father’s will and work! The truth is, Father knew the needs of the multitudes from the beginning, so He sent His Son to the world to die for them and bring His Life to all. But Jesus needed also to “see” the multitudes, and He did! So He left those multitudes and determined to instill within His disciples those principles that would establish a heavenly, spiritual Kingdom on earth, thus providing all that those multitudes desired and needed. Without a doubt, the Kingdom of God is what it is now because Jesus really “saw” the multitudes and their many urgent afflictions, problems, burdens and needs, whether spiritual or natural! May we also “see” those multitudes in the same way Jesus did, and then determine anew to grow spiritually to become fully manifest sons of our Father!
Blessed are the Poor in Spirit
The first BE-attitude, blessing, or principle of the Kingdom of God is this: “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Or, as the Amplified Translation has it, “Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous-- with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (THE HUMBLE, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!” This promise is given to those who are humble! It may be difficult, if not impossible, for us to be humble, according to the Lord’s purposes for us and as He would interpret that word. But our Father has a plan whereby He is making us into His own image and likeness, thus making us humble in His eyes according to His plan and purpose for each one of us. And it is the humble or the poor in spirit who shall inherit the Kingdom of God!
The Lord also gave this word to Israel in the wilderness: “All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live” (Deut. 8:1-3).
Were we to sum up our Father’s major purpose for all the previous six days or ages of man in this world, we would have to say that God has been working with His people from the beginning, to HUMBLE US and make us pliable in His hands. He has also been working with man to make us to know “that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” To hear, receive and believe every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord: that is true Life indeed! Proud, stubborn, arrogant man, the Adamic man of this world, has been groaning under his burdens, resisting his owns tests and trials and the processings of the Lord that would have perfected him. But in that process, man - the corporate man, or Father’s elect who are chosen of the Lord - has truly been humbled! In the book of Acts, it is recorded that Stephen was “full of faith and power, (and) did great wonders and miracles among the people.” Some of those present “disputed” with Stephen, but “they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.” In his inspired, prophetic message of truth, Stephen gave this wise and anointed assessment of mankind, “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye” (Acts 7:51).
Of course, that was not really Stephen speaking! That was God speaking to the people! He was speaking specifically to the religious leaders and practitioners of that day, and his message applies to a similar religious crowd in this day as well. The Lord has always had to work with such stiffnecked and uncircumcised people! He was never surprised by our stiffnecked condition, for our Father has been dealing with mankind for many millenniums (see Gen. 6:5)! He knows our weaknesses, our failures and our faults, for He gave us this Adamic nature and mind. And in giving us this sinful, rebellious nature, He calls upon us to humble ourselves and return to Him. The Psalmist said of the Lord, “Thou turnest man to destruction (the destruction caused by sinful, old Adam); and sayest, Return, ye children of men.” (Ps. 90:3). Although our loving and merciful Father turned us to the “destruction” of the carnal man, and of this earthly realm of sin and death, He also calls upon us to return to Him. And in that call of the Spirit there is all the grace, mercy, love and power of God necessary for us to return to Him! “Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]” (1 Thess. 5:24, AMP). Indeed, whom the Lord calls He also enables!
And now, at the end of the ages of man, Father has successfully brought forth a people of faith and purpose! They are a humble and a contrite people, who are fully prepared to do all the will of their Father. Not only are they ready to do all His will, but they have also BECOME HIS WILL! Through suffering and tribulation, these elect are entering into sonship. Like Christ, the firstborn Son, they have become the will of their Father in the earth! Our tribulations also have taught us the value of the Word of God! We have learned, through our sufferings and tribulations, that we can only live spiritually “by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD!” And there is no other Life but HIS! Jesus did only and always the will of His Father, just as we are also! And we are also growing into the image and likeness of our elder Brother, by the Spirit! We are becoming all that HE IS!
The Lord also said that He led Israel through the great and terrible wilderness and gave them manna from Heaven, “that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, TO DO THEE GOOD AT THY LATTER END” (Deut. 8:16). Our Father is looking at the latter end of our lives when He tests and tries us! And His plan for our latter end will be much better than our beginning ever was or ever could be! Our “latter end” will be so glorious that we cannot comprehend it all! It is difficult for us to look beyond the present, with all its spiritual darkness and prevailing despair! The natural man, the Adamic part of us, cannot see afar off! Our vision at times may be limited, as we look at our present circumstances. But our Father’s pure and holy Word of truth tells us that He is humbling us that He might do us good at our latter end. And that is the very Truth of God for all the elect to hear, receive and believe!
The Apostle Paul wisely advised us, saying, “We too believe, and therefore we speak, [Ps. 116:10.] Assured that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and bring us [along] with you into His presence. For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God. Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting” (2 Cor. 4:13-18, AMP). Most assuredly, we have anchored our faith in that which is “invisible,... deathless and everlasting!”
When we look at the present, temporary circumstances of this life, we may get discouraged and lose hope. Our outer man of the flesh is continually decaying, wasting away, and returning to the dust of the earth from which it came. What we are becoming in this worldly “life” is not very pretty! But what we see ourselves becoming in the Spirit is glorious to behold, when the Lord opens our eyes to see! Our inner man of the Spirit is growing into the image and likeness of Christ, our beloved elder Brother and our pattern and example! As long as we look at the greater, spiritual realities and at that which we are becoming in God, we will lose all despair and hopelessness! We will gain new faith and hope, because of what we see in the Spirit of His Truth and Life, which is the Life of Christ that we are becoming!
The Psalmist said, “Sing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in Zion! Declare among the peoples His doings! For He Who avenges the blood [of His people shed unjustly] remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (the poor and the HUMBLE)” (Ps. 9:11-12, AMP). “The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish out of His land. O Lord, You have heard the desire and the longing of THE HUMBLE and oppressed; You will prepare and strengthen and direct their hearts, You will cause Your ear to hear, To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man, who is of the earth, may not terrify them any more” (Ps. 10:16-18, AMP). “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: THE HUMBLE shall hear thereof, and be glad” (Ps. 34:1-2). And the prophet Isaiah said of the humble ones, “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, WITH HIM ALSO THAT IS OF A CONTRITE AND HUMBLE SPIRIT, to revive the spirit of THE HUMBLE, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Is. 57:15). What wonderfully encouraging promises these are for all THE CONTRITE AND HUMBLE saints of the Lord!
Our heavenly Father dwells in that high and holy place in the highest of the Heavens, far above all the confusion and turmoil of this world! And He does not live there alone! “In my Father's house are many mansions” (Jo. 14:2); spiritually we are living in a mansion with Him! And not all Christians live in the same mansion! Some believers live in lesser spiritual dwelling places or mansions, but the elect abide with their Father in a mansion with Him in that high and holy place of Spirit-Life! Father lives and abides in the realm of Spirit, in a holy mansion, along with all those elect sons who have a HUMBLE and a contrite spirit! The Lord said His purpose for them was, “to revive the spirit of THE HUMBLE, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Indeed, the humble and the contrite saints of the Lord shall be revived, to live the Life of Christ in glorious fullness! That will be the manifestation of the sons of God! And what an awesome Day that will be!
If ever there was a spiritual man on earth before Jesus, it was Job! Eliphaz, one of Job’s friends, had this to say about man in times of spiritual darkness such as these: “When men are cast down (as they are during this midnight hour), then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person” (Job 22:29). By the word of the Lord, we know our Father will fully save the humble and the contrite saints! The elect of the Lord, who are humble and have a contrite spirit and attitude, are the hope of the world. According to the word of the Lord from Eliphaz, in times of spiritual darkness such as these, there will be a “lifting up” of the elect to the highest of the heavens of God’s Spirit, by the anointing of the Spirit (could it be any day now)! Then, the humble and the contrite ones shall be gloriously saved in fullness, to manifest the Life and the Glory of their Father. The word of the Lord shall then be fulfilled, which says: “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” To inherit the Kingdom of God is to be blessed with all the high and holy spiritual resources of our Father! That truly will be the manifestation of the sons of God!
Jesus said, “Whosoever therefore shall HUMBLE himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Mt. 18:4). “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall HUMBLE himself shall be exalted” (Mt. 23:12). And James declared, “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the HUMBLE.” And, “HUMBLE yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up” (James 4:6 & 10). And Peter advised us to “be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the HUMBLE. HUMBLE yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time” (1 Pe. 5:5-6). And when our Father exalts us in due time, by the work of His Spirit within us, we shall be transformed to live the Life of Christ in fullness! That will also be the manifestation of the sons of God!
Blessed are They That Mourn
The next blessing or BE-atitude of the Kingdom of God is: “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted” (Mt. 5:4). To mourn means to grieve! And there is much to grieve or mourn about these days! We might mourn for the wickedness of man, which is increasing in the world and is affecting everything everywhere. Man’s wickedness and carnality are responsible for many if not all of the troubles, woes and sorrows in the world today. The Word of the Lord tells us that man has “polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness” (Jer. 3:2, see Jer. 12:4). “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Gen. 6:5).
But let us understand this truth clearly, the typical “Christian” view of things is usually wrong! We do not need more laws or legislation to correct the ills of man! More of the laws of man will not change anything or anyone. No one has ever been changed for the better by the law! It is God’s business to change people, and we must leave that work up to Him! In the fullness of time, or when Father’s time has come, He will change everyone everywhere; and He will begin that great work with the manifestation of the sons of God! It is time for us to grow spiritually to become manifest sons of God! Then the world will be changed, and the Lord alone will be glorified! Then the Kingdom of God will have come to the earth in glorious fullness!
The evil and wickedness of man are caused by that which is within him (Mk. 7:20-23)! The Psalmist said, “For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue” (Ps. 5:9, see also Ps. 58:2). Therefore, God must begin His cleansing work within us! “The Lord judges the people; judge me, O Lord, and do me justice according to my righteousness [my rightness, justice, and right standing with You] and according to the integrity that is in me. Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the [uncompromisingly] righteous [those upright and in harmony with You]; for You, Who try the hearts and emotions and thinking powers, are a righteous God. [Rev 2:23.]” (Ps. 7:8-9, AMP). In the fullness of time, or in Father’s time, God will bring an end to the wickedness of man, as only He can, and will establish and confirm the uncompromisingly righteous on His royal throne of Kingdom power and authority!
A primary law, regarding all who shall reign with Christ, is this: “It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness” (Pro. 16:12). And the man of wisdom has said, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule (as they are NOW), the people mourn” (Pro. 29:2). For our reign to be righteous, we must be righteous in the eyes of the Lord, according to His standard of righteousness, not according to man’s carnal interpretation of the word, “righteous.” “When the righteous,” according to God’s standards, “are in authority,” which is the authority of the Kingdom of God, “the people (will) rejoice.” But when the wicked rule, the people will mourn.
In a more general sense, we see this happening in our land today as it did in Israel of old: “If I go out into the field, then behold, those slain with the sword! And if I enter the city, then behold, those tormented with the diseases of famine! For both prophet and priest go about not knowing what to do or as beggars [exiled] in a land that they know not, and they have no knowledge. [O Lord] have You utterly rejected Judah? Do You loathe Zion? Why have You smitten us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace and completeness, but no good came, and for a time of healing, but behold, dismay, disaster, and terror!” Why does this terrible condition exist? The word of the Lord tells us: “We know and acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against You” (Jer. 14:18-20, AMP. , see also Jer. 23:10-14). What indeed is the major cause of all the trouble, affliction and sorrow in the world today? John said “the whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 Jo. 5:19). It is all due to the wickedness and the evil within man, including the backslidings of Christendom! And as the remnant of the Lord, who are doing His will in the earth, we are the answer, the solution, to all the problems in the world today! Also, as the Lord’s chosen, holy remnant, our righteousness must “exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,” or of all those in Christendom!
In a time when the wickedness of man is great, as it is now,
the Lord will search the hearts of man. He will “seek out his (the) wickedness
(of man) till thou find none” (Ps. 10:15). When the time comes for the
Lord to restore His people and the world, the prophet Joel foretold what would
take place, by the word of the Lord. He said, “The LORD also shall roar
out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth
shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of
the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling
in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no
strangers pass through her any more. And it shall come to pass in that day,
that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk,
and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come
forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim”
(Joel 3:16-18). What a wonderful and glorious future our Father has prepared
for the whole world of fallen mankind, in spite of their wicked ways! When the
Lord restores all things, no longer will sin reign unto death, as it does now,
but then “grace(shall) reign through righteousness unto eternal life by
Jesus Christ our Lord” (Ro. 5:21).
Jesus said, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” We may mourn for the way things are in the world today, especially when we know what our Father has planned and purposed for the world of the future! To mourn means to grieve and sigh, and we are certainly mourning, grieving, sighing and travailing for a better world, a world governed by the King of kings, and all His co-kings with Him! But there is another reason for us to mourn, and it is described by our Lord Himself. “And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast” (Mt. 9:15).
Christ is the “bridegroom” in this story and we are “the children of the bridechamber.” As long as our Lord Jesus Christ was with His disciples at that time, they needed not to mourn for Him. But when Christ, the Bridegroom, is taken from His people and is no longer with them, then they will mourn or fast for Him. For some two thousand years, believers in Christ, or the body of Christ, were without their bridegroom. He left us to do a greater work in the Heavens, but His Spirit remains with us! And now, at the end of the ages of man and the beginning of a new Day in God, it is time for all who love the Lord and who miss their beloved Head, Bridegroom, Lord and King, to mourn for His return. The elect of the Lord will mourn for their beloved Head, Lord and King, that He might return and take His rightful place as the Head of His Body, as the Lord of lords, as the Lord of all mankind, and as the King of kings! All Heaven is astir, for the Lord of Glory shall soon return to His people, to take His rightful place of honor and authority as the Head of His Body, to rule and reign over all the world in union with His sons, bringing peace, righteousness and love to the whole world and eventually to the whole universe!
I mourn for my Lord and King in ways that I cannot describe. My spirit within is mourning and travailing for His return, that Christ would take over this troubled world of sin and shame and restore all things. I mourn for His return to take His place as the Head of this Body, which we are! I mourn for my Lord and Savior to appear, that we might see Him as He is and, in seeing Him as He is, we shall then be changed into His glorious image and resplendent likeness! I mourn for the return of my Lord, Who is the Prince of peace and the King of righteousness, that He might bring true and lasting peace to this troubled, war-torn world, and establish His righteousness in every heart and life, regardless of the degree of their wickedness, to the glory of the Father! I mourn for the return of my Savior, that He would fully save His elect, bring forth the manifestation of the sons of God, and save all the peoples and the nations of this corrupt and sin-burdened world! I mourn for the return of Christ, in the Spirit and by the Spirit, for then the reign of sin unto death will end, and the reign of grace unto Life shall commence! Join me in mourning for His return in the Spirit, for all His future, Kingdom plans and purposes depend on it! The whole creation is awaiting the return of their Savior, Lord and King, and so are we!
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” In other words, those who are mourning shall be comforted! The word “comfort,” from the original, means to call near, invite or invoke. Therefore, the Lord’s way of comforting us is to call us near to Himself, to call or invite us into His presence, and in inviting us to come into His presence, He invokes His manifold blessings upon us as we approach Him. Those who mourn for the return of the Lord in the glory and honor of His Kingdom shall be comforted as no people have ever been comforted before! No man has known the true comfort of the Lord, as we shall know it at that time! And “that time” is not to be considered as being in the dim and distant future, beyond our life-span in this present world. We should consider that theses precious promises may very well be fulfilled soon, before we know it, in the immediate future, and during this great Day of the Kingdom of God on earth!
This present hour coincides with the time surrounding the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus. We too are awaiting the birth of that Christ-son that is in every one of us! As it was then, so also is it today: we are anticipating the birth of those sons who shall rule and reign with Christ, their Head, Lord and King. It was a new Day then just as it is now! Before either baby was born, we read this account: “And at that time Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country to a town of Judah, And she went to the house of Zachariah and, entering it, saluted Elizabeth. And it occurred that when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit. And she cried out with a loud cry, and then exclaimed, Blessed (favored of God) above all other women are you! And blessed (favored of God) is the Fruit of your womb! And how [have I deserved that this honor should] be granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, the instant the sound of your salutation reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed (happy, to be envied) is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of the things that were spoken to her from the Lord.” (Lu. 1:39-45, AMP).
John the Baptist leaped in his mother’s womb when he heard Mary’s salutation, possibly indicating a spiritual communication between the Lord and John, His prophetic forerunner. Those two mothers were comforted like no others have been comforted before or since! But we shall be similarly comforted when we are born again of the Spirit and manifested as the sons of the Living God! As soon as the sound of Mary’s salutation reached the ears of Elizabeth, John the Baptist, the baby that was in her womb, leaped for joy! In the same way, when we hear the Voice of the Lord confirming His Word to our hearts, something within us also leaps for joy! One day soon we shall hear a Word from our Father, releasing us from this realm of sin and death, to bring forth the manifestation of the son of God, which we are! The blessed son that we are shall soon burst forth from his spiritual womb, to become a full-grown and fully manifest son of the living God! What a marvelous hope we have! And what a blessed hope and promise Father has given to the whole creation!
Now notice the last verse of that scripture! And blessed (happy, to be envied) is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of the things that were spoken to her from the Lord.” How important it is for us to simply believe! May we believe every true Word that has been spoken to us from the Lord! That is the secret - the key - to receiving from the bountiful hand of the Lord! As we believe our Father’s holy Word of Truth, we shall receive the fulfillment of that Word! Then we shall be comforted like no other people has been comforted in all the history of the world!
While speaking to the people, Jesus told them He was returning to the Father, but they would see Him in “a little while.” “ Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, BECAUSE HER HOUR IS COME: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, FOR JOY THAT A MAN IS BORN INTO THE WORLD. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you” (Jo. 16:19-22). Imagine what it will be like when our sorrow is turned to joy, by the Spirit of the Lord!
The sons of God are travailing to be born again of the Spirit (Jo. 3:3-6, Rom. 8:19-23). Our spiritual experience at this time parallels that of a woman in travail, who is awaiting the imminent birth of her son. As a woman travails with sorrow in the hour prior to the birth of her baby, so also are we travailing with Godly sorrow, a sorrow that is not of this world (2 Cor. 7:10, 1 Thess. 4:13), as we await the birth of the son of God that we are. Why are we sorrowing and travailing as we are now? BECAUSE OUR HOUR IS COME! The hour of the manifestation of the sons of God is near! And we are all mourning and travailing in the Spirit, BECAUSE OUR HOUR IS COME! The Spirit of God is causing certain things to take place in our lives at this time, which are affecting us in such a way that it causes us to sorrow, sigh, mourn and travail. The hour of our spiritual birth is near! And may we all, who are chosen of our Father for this high and holy calling, repent before the Lord, prepare to see Him in great glory, and be transformed into His wondrous, magnificent and holy image and likeness.
For some reason, the following sentence seems to be magnified and emphasized to me by the Spirit of the Lord: “A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, BECAUSE HER HOUR IS COME: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, FOR JOY THAT A MAN IS BORN INTO THE WORLD.” I believe the truth of God for us at this time is: OUR HOUR IS COME! The hour is at hand when we shall shine with the brilliance and the brightness of the Son/sun! The Spirit is impressing me with those words, for it is becoming obvious that our hour is come! Just how long an “hour” is in real time, or earth time, is anyone’s guess. It may be weeks, or months, or years; but we leave that with our Father. It is sufficient for us to simply know, by the Spirit, that OUR HOUR IS COME! The “hour” is upon us when the precious Word of our Father shall be gloriously fulfilled in our lives, for His glory and honor!
The other phrase that stands out in my spirit is this: “FOR JOY THAT A MAN IS BORN INTO THE WORLD.” Notice, it does not say for joy that a child, or a baby, or a daughter, is born into the world, but it specifically states “A MAN IS BORN INTO THE WORLD!” This clear statement rules out a birth that is of the flesh or of this world! This is not referring to an ordinary baby being born into the world, but it is speaking specifically about A MAN BEING BORN INTO THE WORLD! And who is that MAN, but the Christ-Man? As we have written several times before, this is a MAN in spiritual experience, to indicate that all of us, whether male or female in gender, are full-grown adults, in the Spirit and by the Spirit. We shall then become full-grown sons of the Living God! It is Christ the Son, Who is to be born from within us and manifest to the world! That will be the manifestation of the sons of God! THE HOUR OF OUR BIRTH IS COME; THE TIME HAS COME; IT IS THE WONDERFUL HOUR WHEN A MAN, THE CHRIST-MAN, SHALL BE BORN INTO THE WORLD, to begin the reign of Christ, the King, and all His co-kings with Him!
Having come this far in God, let us never ever think, even for a moment, that we are unworthy of receiving this blessed promise from our Father. In the days of the early church, when Paul and Barnabas were successfully ministering to many people, the Jews (of Judah) contradicted and blasphemed them and their message. So Paul and Barnabas said to them, “It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles” (Acts 13:46). The Word of the Lord, which is coming forth now by the Spirit, is a precious Word! It is a holy Word! It is Christ, the Word and the Truth, coming by the Spirit, to raise us up to a new realm in God, and fulfill all the unfulfilled promises and purposes of our Father!
This fresh, reviving Word from our Father is not a mistake, or the presumption of man, nor is it more religious hype! God is speaking clearly to His elect today, and He is speaking in very definite, distinct and relevant terms. If we will hear and receive His precious Word of Truth, all our personal concerns and the limitations of the flesh, such as our perceived unworthiness, shall be abolished and answered by the faith of the Son of God! Our Father delights in making the impossible possible, the inconceivable conceivable, the unbelievable believable and the unattainable attainable! He also makes the unworthy worthy, the unrighteous righteous, the faithless full of faith, and the hopeless He fills with great hope and faith, and gives them the where-with-all to become all that He has purposed them to become!
Get ready, precious sons of God, we stand on the threshold of the awesome and glorious Kingdom of our Father in His fullness! Here, there is no room for the doubts and fears of man, or for the many other manifestations of the carnal mind. God is God! He is the Creator and the Restorer of all, for He rejects no one who is chosen of the Father! And He also is the Author as well as the Finisher of our faith! What He has purposed to do, He will do with all the authority and power of our Sovereign and Omnipotent King and Lord of all! “He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth, and none can stay His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?” (Dan. 4:35, Amplified.)
When we have concluded our travail, mourning and sighing during this last hour prior to our second birth, this prophetic word shall be fulfilled: “[Hark!] An uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to His enemies! Before [Zion] travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child. Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God. Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her, That you may nurse and be satisfied from her consoling breasts, that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the abundance and brightness of her glory. For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted [lovingly bounced up and down] on her [God's maternal] knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem” (Is. 66:6-13, AMP). We need only to believe for a short time yet, or only for the duration of this last hour, then His Word shall be gloriously fulfilled!
When our blessed Lord said, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted,” He meant every wonderful Word of that promise to us! And we may be certain that our Father shall fulfill every pure Word of promise and hope that He has ever sent forth to the earth, especially His promises of Life to those who love Him and who are being made alive, by the Spirit, in the beginning of this new Day of the Kingdom of God on earth! Indeed, we are the elect and chosen ones who are called of the Lord to serve Him at this very hour when the Kingdom of God is coming to the earth. The coming of the Kingdom of God to the earth, or the coming of the Lord in great power and glory, shall change this world and everything else everywhere, until all is restored, recreated and made new by the omnipotent and sovereign power and authority of the Christ Who reigns!
Blessed are the Meek
The next blessing or BE-atitude is: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth” (Mt. 5:5). And the Psalmist also said, “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace” (Ps. 37:11). What a wonderful and magnificent blessing that shall be: the meek shall inherit the earth! And all we need do to inherit the earth and everything in it and of it is to become meek in the sight of the Lord! I would not want to inherit the earth as it is now, and I am sure you would not want to either! But it is not the present earth, with all of its corruption, sin and shame, that we shall inherit; it is the new earth that we shall inherit, for this earth shall be made new by the creative and restorative power of the Lord our God!
John, by the Spirit, said, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful” (Rev. 21:1-5). Indeed, the earth that the meek shall inherit is the new earth; it is the earth where all the former things are passed away! And in this new earth, which is our inheritance, “there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” The new earth is the one we seek, and the new earth is the one we shall inherit, by becoming meek, mild, humble and gentle in the blessed Kingdom of our Father!
Peter also declared, by the Spirit, “Nevertheless we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent
that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless” (2
Pet. 3:13-14). We are looking for a new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness! We are no longer interested in this tired, old earth, for we
see a new earth on the spiritual horizon.
And it is that new earth which we shall inherit, the one we see in the Spirit and by the Spirit! And because we “SEE” the new earth, in the Spirit and by the Spirit, as John did (Rev. 21:1), we will heed the admonition of Peter and will “be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”
To confirm that the earth we shall inherit is the new earth, the prophet Isaiah prophesied, “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed” (Is. 65:17-20). Not only will the earth be recreated and made new, but the elect and all mankind as well shall also be made new to become a rejoicing and a joyful people, anointed with the Spirit of Life from God. And in that new earth, we shall live the sinless and deathless Life of our Father, which also is the abundant and everlasting Life of Christ!
The whole creation is groaning and travailing in pain together. Not only is that true, but we are also groaning and travailing inwardly. We are awaiting our adoption as sons of our Father, which is the redemption of our bodies (Rom. 8:22-23)! The whole creation has joined us in this travail! Will we answer them? If so, how will we answer them? There is only one answer we can give them - there is only one thing we can do to satisfy the creation, and that is to continue to grow spiritually. Keep climbing this last mountain! We are almost there! When we reach the top, we shall see Him as He is to become all that He is! Amen!
