Writings of Origen
Origen of Alexandria (185 - 254 AD) is perhaps one of the greatest Early Church Fathers given to the Church. He is generally considered the greatest theologian and biblical scholar of the early Eastern Church. He was born in a Christian family, where his father gave him an excellent literary education. Origen was appointed at the age of 18 to succeed Clement of Alexandria as head of the school in Alexandria, where he had been a student.
