Grace Abounds
Scripture declares that where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. I marvel at the all sufficiency of our God and Father. If we believe what God says, we cannot find ourselves in a place that is beyond the sufficiency of his grace. Isn’t it comforting to know, that no matter how bad the sin or the sinner, Gods goodness and grace more than surpasses his need for forgiveness and healing.
This is love that passes all human understanding. How wonderful it is to know that God’s grace is sufficient. Not that any of us should desire to sin, or be overcome by the desires of the flesh, But we will never overcome the flesh and it’s desires, if we are ignorant of God’s grace. It is the effectual working of His grace that enables us to overcome the flesh. However we must first believe we are forgiven and saved by grace through faith believing in the all sufficient goodness and grace of God. The one who gave His life to deliver us when we dead in sin and trespasses against Him. When we where yet his enemy and in opposition to God through or opposing nature, doing all that He abhors, Christ died for us, that we might live. He did not wait for us to get better, or to improve in our behavior before He would die for us, but when we were at our worst, Christ gave Himself a ransom. Where sin abounded His grace did much more abound.
My Beloved, the fleshly desire and sin that we must overcome
is the thinking that we of ourselves are sufficient for anything. Our sufficiency
is in Him and of Him, we are to have no confidence in the flesh. I can do all
things in Christ, for his grace is sufficient for me. By him, am I in Christ
and I am kept by the power of God. I am His workmanship and because of his goodness
and grace I am complete in Him and shall be, perfected in Him to the praise
of the glory of His grace.
